What is French Polishing?

French polishing is a traditional technique of applying many coats of shellac to build a high gloss finish on a surface. When we hear the term “french polisher” we perhaps think of antique furniture repairs.

However, the modern “french polisher”, such as Nigel Ford, has an extensive skill set that allows them to utilise both traditional processes as well as state of the art methods, products and repair techniques to restore /correct damage, rebuild colours and revive.
